HALF-LIFE: BLUE SHIFT
good to play something where it's possible to be forced to load a perilous save (as all saves should be; wasting ammo and taking pointless damage is genre-texture canon) or put on the backstep for an extended duration. creeping thru vents at 2HP, bhopping with the magnum like a fruity wild bill -- this is The Stuff. could spend hours hanging out in goldsrc maintenance guts and waterways taking in the sewer balm and the metallic tang of the sound design
love that the HECU bounce between skittering around launching 203s haphazardly and staring you down with that fearless energy really big centipedes have when they've lived in your apartment longer than you. I think all enemies should behave like weird little bugs and all arenas should be designed specifically to accommodate that behaviour. never really thought about how vorts are just baby shamblers before but it's very cute
